The Local Church My HomeI grew up in a family where throughout the generations they instilled the fear of God in us. My parents, although they did not belong to any religious institution, loved God in their own way. Later on, my mother began to seek God in a more definite way. I was only five years old. I will never forget the day in which my mother told us Finally I have found my Jesus, I have found the place I so long had yearned for. It was from here on that God gave meaning to our lives. I remember that Lord's Day morning we went to the local church in Tijuana. Even though I was so young and could not comprehend many things, there was in the atmosphere a sense of security, happiness and peace that filled all my being and that made me feel as though I were in my own home. That's how it happened. Now that twenty years have gone by, I can comprehend why that first time I felt as if I was at home. I love this place, the local church! Here I have found marvelous things such as the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, which have nurtured me and helped me to understand the truth (Ephesians 4:13). The writings of these brothers are full of life and experience, for they are applicable to the daily life of a normal Christian. It is incredible to see how that every time I read the interpreted word by these brothers my spirit is enlivened. Truly the local church is my home and I would never leave this place. What I have found here I would not find in any other place. It is here that I found the truth, my beloved Jesus. Cristal Cabanillas | Back to List |
